That’s right, there’s more! Continue reading below for 6 incredibly awesome facts about yoga that you probably don’t know but need to!

1. Yoga Isn’t Just a Current Trend

Okay, so yoga has been the craze the past couple of years and has been on the rise ever since. There are now even yoga retreats around the world that you can visit to enjoy some relaxing vibes. However, yoga isn’t a current trend that will soon fade away.

Yoga is an ancient tradition that some say dates back all the way to the stone age!

It was also the main theme of a Hindu scripture known as the Bhagavad Gita. This scripture was written around 500 B.C.

Pretty amazing, right? This alone is proof that yoga is not a newly-thought-of idea. But if it isn’t enough proof for you, we can discuss the Yoga Sutras, which was written around 100 B.C. by Patanjali to define classical yoga.

So, if you’re a believer that yoga is some current fad that’ll soon die out, you’re wrong!

2. Savasana Is the Most Difficult and Important Pose

This next fact might be more of an opinion depending on who you ask. However, if anyone would like to argue it, we can say with positivity that Savasana is one of the most difficult poses. It’s the final pose that you enter into at the end of each yoga session.

It’s the ultimate state of relaxation. So, why is it so difficult? It’s not the pose itself that makes it difficult as in many cases, you’re simply laying flat on the ground.

It’s difficult because this is the moment when you allow your mind and body to destress and when you make the transformation into your natural state of a human being rather than a business owner, Olympic trainee, or anything else. Your focus becomes concentrated on just being there in the moment.

This is also why this pose is the most important. This is the moment when you sock up everything that you’ve learned from your session and rejuvenate your whole self. So, if you normally skip out on this part, be sure to never skip out again.

3. Improves Orgasms and Sex Itself

Most know how beneficial yoga is for loosening our joints and muscles. There are several poses that work to open the hips and teach the body how to stretch. With that being said, yoga improves the sex lives of many practicers.

For example, Mula Bandha works muscles at the base of the pelvis, which builds strength in them. Doing so creates better orgasms. This pose and all other yoga poses help with your flexibility, which is also an amazing addition in the bedroom. From muscle strength and flexibility to learning how to connect with others through your breathing, yoga is a great way to bring new sparks into your sex life!

4. Breathing Is of the Utmost Importance

Speaking of breathing, breathing is one of the most important factors when it comes to practicing yoga. Learning how to control your breaths and how to connect your breaths with your movements is almost more important than the poses themselves.

Although syncing your breathing with your movements can be challenging at times, there is one breathing technique that’s simple and beneficial. This technique is to learn how to inhale for the same length of time as you exhale. To do so, count while you breathe in and count while you breathe out.

Make sure you have the same count for each one. This is an awesome technique to know because whenever you feel stressed or anxious, you can take a deep breathe and concentrate on counting to bring you back into relaxation.

5. Yoga Is a Fountain of Youth

Yes, you read it right. Yoga is a fountain of youth in many ways. For one, it helps keep your spine functioning correctly.

A healthy and flexible spine is necessary for keeping your body healthy. It also does wonders for your bones, blood circulation, immunity, nervous system, lung function, and much more. But most importantly, it helps keep your mind clear and at peace.

So no, you won’t enter a yoga session as a 42-year-old and leave as a 20-year-old, but it will keep you looking and feeling young!

6. Yoga Is Supported by Modern Technology

When you think of joining a yoga session, you’re probably quick to think of an in-person class at a local gym. However, this is not the only place where you can attend classes. Modern technology now supports yoga!

This means that you can now engage in a yoga session from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere for that matter. Many yoga classes are now offered online making it even easier to get your daily dose of yoga!
